An alumnus of Harvard University, in 1985 John and his company, Shelter Innovation, renovated a mill type building into the Brickyard Office Park. The renovation resulted in a mixture of exposed brick, heavy timber, glass, and skylights, influenced by the highly-successful conversion of the Twine Building in Kendall Square.
John keeps his offices on-site and can frequently be seen speaking with tenants and chatting with office workers. A supporter of the Oldtime Baseball Game (founded here in Cambridge), he is also a patron of the arts with the Atrium Gallery located right here at the Brickyard Office Park.
